How to Break Up With Someone

How to Break Up With Someone Free Online Research Papers Life is full of changes. One of the most emotional and hardest changes is realizing that you are ready to let go of relationship. It is not easy and there are so many delicate strings to limbo through as you try not to get tangled up or break anything. Most people want to make a nice, clean, easy break but fail to know how. Let’s be honest with ourselves, usually long before we let go we know that we want to let go, we just aren’t sure how to go about it. The longer we sit and ponder on it, the more tangled the relationship web has become. Friends and family may have become an embedded part of the relationship depending on how long it has gone on. A lot must be considered, such as our motives and are we personally truly ready for the emotional rollercoaster. After all we may find right after the deed is done that it should not have been done. To be honest unless both parties are ready to let go, there will always be hurt. The key is to minimize the pain. We know we are not quite ready to tell the other person of our intentions yet, but we need to tread lightly. Perhaps we should not make comments about being here forever or make any promises of love that we know we do not intend to keep. We need to keep it light and back away from some of the things we have been doing. It should be done with gentle care and respect. After all we are trying to preserve the friendship and cause as little pain as necessary. We might even consider hanging out with our own friends a little more, giving the other person a chance for independence. This may seem a little cruel but you want them to see that they don’t need to be around you all the time. You are setting up their cushion by giving them independence. They won’t feel so lost and alone if they have another shoulder to cry on. The most hurtful thing about losing the person you love is not knowing what to do with yourself. When you are use to being together all the time you don’ t know how to cope. So basically you are setting them up to survive, and dulling the pain. At first they may get upset that you want to hang out more with others, but encourage them to do the same. If they are honest with themselves and otherwise pretty sharp they will know at this point that the relationship is coming to its end, and may even call it quit themselves here. Whenever you are ready to let go, you need to figure out if you want to handle this on the phone, by letter, or in person. Do not break up after having sex, or spending a romantic day together. This needs to be done on its own day with no emotional events happening. You could try to pick a fight but the best way is to be straightforward about it. The hardest approach will be to do this in person because you will have to see the pain in their face and the tears. There really is no easy way to do this, except by perhaps letter. This is you call to pick which way suites you the best. Be honest with the person for why you want to break up. Don’t tell them you just need time or that you don’t know what you want when you do know. This only creates false hope that you will return. Tell them that you will always care for them but don’t say that you love them. The truth is that if you are leaving then you have more than likely fallen out of love. To say that you still love them is a lie and your actions later will only hurt more. They will end up hurting themselves by trying to figure out how can you love them and yet leave. Tell them that you really love the friendship that you have and are sorry for the pain. Explain that you truly never wanted to hurt them and that while you are sure this is what you want it makes it hard to let go. They will probably want to know if you are seeing anyone else or intend to. Let them know that right now you have no intentions of committing to anyone, but that does not mean you will not choose to be in a relations hip later (this part only if you know you fully intend to date soon). This sounds bad but it would hurt them more to see you out with someone after you said you didn’t want anyone. Allow them to cry and assure them that you still want to maintain a friendship. Tell them you understand if that would be too hard to do at this time, but you were willing to wait until they were ready. The most essential part is making sure you don’t make promises you don’t want to keep. If you are ok with hanging out still, do so, but it would probably be better to hang out in groups. If you end up spending too much time together you will give the false hope. Make sure you do not break up around any holidays, anniversaries or birthdays. If there are children involved please be careful to still give them the care they deserve. The most important thing to remember is patience. Because they will experience hurt, give them a chance to vent and tell you how they feel. Don’t get back together out of pity and don’t make excuses. You can still be available as friend to that person. Just tread lightly when expressing the way you feel about them. If you truly don’t want to hurt their feelings try and remain single for a while to give them time to adjust. This is really important if you have the same friendship circle. Don’t shy away from hanging out with the group as you normally did, and don’t be cold. Talk to them just like you use to because you don’t want to alienate them. You want to show them that you can still function as friends. It’s always going to be a hard thing to let go. No matter what we can not prevent the pain. The best we can do is hope to minimize the damage; damage control is all about what you say and how you say it. There is no need to be nasty about a split when you have a friendship base. Even if you don’t really care to speak to them again, be nice out of respect for the friendship that was. It is the most selfless thing we can do in this situation. Lord of the Flies vs. the Destructors Essay Essays

Lord of the Flies vs. the Destructors Essay Essays Lord of the Flies vs. the Destructors Essay Paper Lord of the Flies vs. the Destructors Essay Paper Fiction looks at all scopes of subjects through the eyes of so many diverse characters. Lord of the Fliess and The Destructors is no different in the sense you see two highly dramatic state of affairss through the eyes of surprising characters. These narratives both take a expression at society and the crude facets it can hold. The chief characters in the narrative are both kids of immature ages exhibiting surprising and sometimes highly flooring behaviour exposing a loss of artlessness. They differ in the sense that Lord of Flies looks at how barbarian a homo can acquire in despairing state of affairss while the other is how barbarian a individual can acquire against a society that feel victimized against. These two novels have similarities that can be easy identified. They both display groups of striplings that are interacting with utmost state of affairss. Lord of Flies depicts kids stranded on an island and they must come together in order to happen these solutions. Desperation sets in which motivates them to get down moving more and more barbarian as clip goes on. This is similar to The Destructors because the short narrative displays a similar group of immature kids who display savage behaviour to a community. While one is a residential community and another is an island. the island represents a community for these male childs for the clip of the narrative because they are stranded upon it. Both narratives display a power battle through two characters in them. Lord of The Flies shows this through Jack and Ralph and In the Destructors this is seen through Trevor and Blackie. Jack and Ralph both attempted to go head of the new folk. Ralph winning by a few ballots. However. as clip goes on their crude behaviours shine through making a divide between the kids and Jack develops his ain folk. Jack’s influence motivates the kids to go violent and barbarous toward Ralph and his group. ensuing in killing one of Ralph’s friend. Piggy. All of the teamwork and civil behaviour that Ralph represents is easy gone until the kids all turn into monsters. which Jack represents. Ralph was about construction and happening a deliverance. which is apparent in his design of two groups. one for nutrient and one for a fire signal while doodly-squat was all about barbarian behaviour and power over the other kids. In the Destructors. Blackie and Trevor both have potency to be the leader of the Wormsley Common Gang and it can be seen through their duologue that they are both cognizant that they want it. Blackie tries to expose this by trying to forestall Trevor from voting on what sort of problem they get into when he tardily to their meeting but Trevor do es non let him. The extremum of this battle is when are discoursing thoughts and Trevor tells them about destructing Old Misery’s house from the interior. Blackie attempts his best to deter with the potency of constabulary and the inability to carry through this but Trevor continue to force the thought until it is voted for and chosen. This symbolized the terminal of Blackie’s reign of the group and when one member asks â€Å"How do we get down? † Blackie merely walks away stating. â€Å" He’ll Tell you. † Implying that he knows what has occurred and recognizing his function of leading is taken over. Both groups in each narrative displayed how easy a dynamic can alter through Power. When you look at the narratives from another angle. you can see that the messages they have differ highly. Lord of the Flies was all about human nature and the terminals it can travel. This novel is a timeless one because of the message it sends through the least likely characters. immature male childs. The Destructors is a more credible narrative because the type of force that is seen in the narrative. While harm to someone’s place is atrocious and the mode in which they did it was highly particular. Lord of The Flies uses force against one another and consequences in psychotic interruptions and kids losing their lives at the custodies of others. The longer these kids are with one another. they start to lose more of their humanity and derive more cardinal inherent aptitudes in ways of moving. Jack is the best campaigner to expose this because of how he grows more and more corrupt. After get downing his ain folk. he has enabled himself to order what he feels his followings should make. He allowed them to go barbarian every bit good. If he felt that other kids needed to be punished. he felt non vacillation and even was to the point of slaying another kid. He started have oning clay masks. which represents the symbolism of holding a new more cardinal facade. The novel wraps up with Ralph being rescued but shouting because he reflects on everything that has happened and how far these immature kids have fallen and to what points they all reached. The Destructors truly depicts a group of kids who aim to destruct a vicinity go forthing an old man’s house for last. These kids differ from the 1s in Lord of The Flies because though they do some reasonably questionable Acts of the Apostless. it is more delinquency instead than cardinal Acts of the Apostless. These male childs are making violent actions because of the force through the war they witness around them. With World War II traveling on. these kids are witness to bombardments frequently go forthing them experiencing with the demand to make something. They decide to go a pack that will do their grade around London. doing offense one more extreme than the following. Trevor motivates these male childs to destruct an old man’s house but alternatively of usually destructing it while he is off. they decide to bust up it from the interior out. Trevor says. â€Å"We’d be like worms. don’t you see. in an apple. † ( pg. 12 ) However. mid building the old adult male. Old Misery. comes place unexpected and is locked off until the occupation is finished. The stoping shows Old Misery sobbing as his house is destroyed and the lorry that was about ended the narrative by express joying stating â€Å"There’s nil personal but you got to acknowledge it’s good story. † ( pg. 22 ) This is really the exact opposite reaction of what Lord of The Flies displayed because even though Mr. Thomas was sobbing at his loss similar to Ralph’s reaction. the Lorry laughed at the comedy of the state of affairs. These narratives all depict kids making things that typically we would non anticipate to see in society. However. the deficiency of a society in both novels has allowed behaviour of this magnitude to happen. These narratives show us that though they are different sorts of offenses and in different context. society is what can be considered the common yarn through both narratives. Society and it’s influence can truly consequence the people that are in it and if you are in a society that doesn’t supply a positive construction. you could expose the actions seen in Lord of The Flies or The Destructors.

Research report-Tour Down Under Paper Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 2500 words

Report-Tour Down Under - Research Paper Example Some of the notable events include AFL Grand Final, Clipsal and Tour Down Under. Based on its popularity among Australians and foreigners, Tour Down Under has been recognized as a major sport tourism event. Tour Down Under (TDU) is a cycling event held in South Australia. Based on its popularity in the country and across the globe, TDU attracts large numbers of tourists thus having a positive implication for the South Australia economy as well as social and cultural aspects of the region. Being held in January each year, the event has continued to attract a large number of participants thus making it act as a major source of tourism attraction. To the residents of Australia, TDU is not only seen as a sporting activity but also as a charity and international event that greatly benefit local people and the government (Hall, 1992). This paper seeks to evaluate the impact of the Tour Down Under on different stakeholders. In addition, the paper will discuss a strategy of using the event t o attract more tourists to South Australia. ... For instance in 2011 and 2013, 782,300 and 760,400 spectators respectively experienced the Tour Down Under. Due to the large number of spectators who come from various countries, the event was recognized by the Qantas Australia Tourism Awards in 2011 and 2012 as the best festival event. In order to attract more spectators, the Australia government in collaboration with Mike Turtur, the Tour Down Under directors, undertakes extensive promotion strategies. In this way, the event has benefited from a strong loyalty from the spectators thus making it more popular. A notable aspect of the spectators is the creation of festival atmosphere by creating strong friendship with the visitors thus leading to visitor satisfaction. 3.0 Impacts on participants Tour Down Under participants include all 19 UCI WorldTour. Once the teams are ready, they join the Australian National UniSA team thus forming the Australian National UniSA team. Each team consists of seven riders (Gammon and Robinson, 2003). One of the major factors that enable the event to attract a large number of participants as well as spectators is the visual attributes of the landscape within which the event is held. The natural environment, the scenic vineyard and the sea, make the event provide a strong experience to the participants (Gibson and Heather, 1998). Some of the major regions that make up the tour include Barossa, Clare Valley, urban circuits, Saddleworth, Norwood and Hahndorf among other towns. Do older tourists to Bulgarian coastal resorts (Sunny Beach) Coursework

Do older tourists to Bulgarian coastal resorts (Sunny Beach) participate in more varied activities than their younger counterparts do - Coursework Example Sunny beach has is full of varied facilities like shopping malls, aqua parks, swimming pools, parks, hotels, and pedestrian roads. These facilities provide social amenities to the visiting tourists. While working on our primary research in Sunny Beach, the research identified many activities that people do there e.g. water skiing, swimming, wakeboarding, spa in recreational facilities like hotels, shopping, cycling, working out in fitness center, among others. Faulkner and the South Essay Example for Free

Faulkner and the South Essay There are several key issues which arose in the mid-nineteenth century which led to the breakdown of the American Union – and eventually to the Civil War. One of the main underlying issues was the division caused by the opposing feelings about the issue of slavery – however it was the manner in which the Northern politicians forced the eradication of slavery. This division will be explored through Faulkner’s work A Rose for Emily and Long Hot Summer. The Civil War was about division and after the war had ended, although some major points of reunification abounded in America, there was still a great sentiment of this division, which was felt especially strong in the South, as Glatthaar states â€Å"Yet like Southerners, Northern whites had powerful prejudices against blacks†¦ It was one thing, most Northerners reasoned, to regard the enslavement of the black race as cruel and inhumane; it was another to ask Northerners to regard blacks as their equals or welcome them as neighbors and friends† (11-12).    In Faulkner’s work A Rose for Emily, he explores these sentiments through the characters. Emily is ostracized from the community, all of them assuming she is too proud, too august for her contemporaries, and that she lives (or lived) her current life in the past, stuck to the ideals of her father.   This same statement could be a representation of America during this time frame of the Post-Civil War in which the patriarchy of the American government did not allow for certain southern ideals, mores, and traditions to survive the end of the war (Bordewich 12). The list of characters whom Faulkner chooses to portray in A Rose for Emily still hold onto these traditions, although the story also represents the confusion during this time period.   The American South was, after the Civil War a place of forced conglomeration just as is seen in Faulkner’s story in the subtle inclusion of the description of the graveyard where Miss Emily was to be buried, â€Å"And now Miss Emily had gone to join the representatives of those august names where they lay in the cedar-bemused cemetery among the ranked and anonymous graves of Union and Confederate soldiers who fell at the battle of Jefferson† (Faulkner) thus leaving the ‘sides’ of the war forced together through death and anonymity. The Civil War was a battle for rights; for racism to cease, or at least slavery.   In the ideals of the south, slavery, unfortunately had become a ‘tradition’ and it is difficult for someone, especially for a culture to change their normality.   This ‘change’ that the Civil War brought upon the south is exercised quite stunningly through Faulkner’s character Colonel Sartoris in that he refuses to change his mode of thinking for the purpose of a smooth transition of south values to northern norms (Glatthaar 45), and thus gives the reader an august manner of racism, Colonel Sartoris, the mayorhe who fathered the edict that no Negro woman should appear on the streets without an apron-remitted her taxes, the dispensation dating from the death of her father on into perpetuity. Not that Miss Emily would have accepted charity. Colonel Sartoris invented an involved tale to the effect that Miss Emilys father had loaned money to the town, which the town, as a matter of business, preferred this way of repaying. Only a man of Colonel Sartoris generation and thought could have invented it, and only a woman could have believed it. (Faulkner). Here is seen the tradition of the south in the fact that Sartoris would not allow ‘Negro’ women to appear in public without an apron, which is a truly racism and sexist law to permit to be enacted.   The south however during this time period was a place in which the older generation wanted to hold firm to their beliefs in a type of call for integrity, no matter the ridiculous nature of this integrity. Miss Emily was the epitome of Southern values in this story; she harkened the town back to the ‘old ways’ in her manner, in her presence and thus whenever another character in the story approached her they were forced to reckon with her set of mores instead of the present situation.   This can be clearly seen in the manner in which she dealt with her taxes when the sheriff and the town committee tried to force her to pay her taxes and can especially be seen in the manner in which the town tried to get rid of the smell permeating from her house. The town did not approach her in a civilized manner because they did not want to tell a lady (a lady) that she stank, â€Å"†¦so they were not surprised when the smell developed. It was another link between the gross, teeming world and the high and mighty Griersons† (Faulkner). It is Emily’s character which is the focus of the story; her clandestine ways pitted against the townspeople as Watkins states, The contrast between Emily and the townspeople and between her home and its surroundings is carried out by the invasion of her home by the adherents of the new order in the town. Each visit by her antagonists is a movement in the overall plot, a contributing element to the excellent suspense in the story, and a crisis in its own particular division of the story (Watkins 509). It seems that with the close of the war there were certain sentiments of pity which arose for the south in that they needed aid to rebuild their destroyed towns, and this aid came from the North.   Tied into these emotive states of Post-Civil War America was proud, the South was proud and sometimes too proud to accept this aid when necessary; this same sentiment is seen in Miss Emily as well as her father, as Faulkner writes, â€Å"When her father died, it got about that the house was all that was left to her; and in a way, people were glad. At last they could pity Miss Emily. Being left alone, and a pauper, she had become humanized. Now she too would know the old thrill and the old despair of a penny more or less†.   Thus the town wanted vindication of sorts through pity, the ability to pity her made her less of a force just as is the case between the North and South states.

Sound Vs. Silence :: essays research papers

The most apparent difference between Dracula and Nosferatu is that one was made while film was still without sound-at least dialogue-and the other was not. This difference, though not a revelation in itself, leads to a great number of much more in-depth contrasts that deserve discussion. In making a silent film, a director must rely on sight-and a certain amount of text-to portray to the audience his intended emotional, and intellectual reaction. As a result of this, the director is not able to go into in-depth character development with the same kind of resources as a director of film that is not silent. In the case of Nosferatu, this leads to a very limited number of characters have any kind of depth whatsoever. This is not to say that every character does not have about him or herself a certain image, or that every character does not extract a certain emotion from the audience. It is simply to say that a great number of characters in Nosferatu use only image to achieve their desired effect. For example, in Dracula, if one were to see Dracula walking down the street, an adverse reaction would be somewhat illfounded. Outside of his clothes, Dracula is a normal looking person. In Nosferatu, however, Dracula is more or less a freak. The end result of this is the audience having the same image of Dracula in both movies, one achieved this through extensive dialogue, and one simply through the appearance of a character. Another example, in Dracula, the first character that is given any kind of development whatsoever is Renfield, and throughout the movie, Renfield is transformed first to a blood sucking savage, and then slowly returned to a character with a heart, and a little bit of compassion. However, in Nosferatu, Renfield is already the blood sucking savage, cooped up in the loony bin, eating bugs when the movie starts, and the extent of his role seems to be nothing more than to provide more insight into the nature of Dracula.Perhaps the most interesting contrast between the two movies is that although they are based on the same novel, their story lines do not coincide. This is apparent in the beginning when in Dracula, Renfield is the one who travels to Transylvania, whereas in Nosferatu, John Harker is the one who travels to Transylvania. It is not explicitly clear in Dracula who the owner of the property that Dracula purchases is; however, in Nosferatu, it is clear that John Harker is the own er, and his trip to Transylvainia is for the purpose of selling the property to Dracula.

Meal Plan Cost Analysis

Nancy StamperSeptember 6, 2012 HSS 303/05Meal Plan/Cost Analysis My meal plan is a bit unusual in that I am temporarily living with family after a experiencing a broken relationship and selling my condo. I am not required or expected to contribute to the food costs of the household. However, I do pick up items from the grocery store on occasion and I go out to dinner with friends. My school schedule is such that I usually eat my meals before and after classes and do not eat at the offerings on campus. I rarely eat fast food or get food from vending machines. During my 7 day food log time frame I spent 42. 93 eating out and around 48. 2 at the grocery. My guilty pleasure is Agave. It is rather expensive but I prefer to use it in my coffee or tea instead of sugar. It has a lower glycemic index and is sweeter than sugar. I prefer the taste. I do like to eat fresh fruits and vegetables. I prefer to buy what is in season as it tastes better and is usually priced better. In my past experie nce it is better to plan your meals around what is in season and on sale that to plan your meals and hope for the best in prices and availability. When eating out, I tend to choose what I want instead of what is healthiest. Eating out is a social event for me.I like to relax and enjoy myself which, for me, does not include analyzing food choices. Because I am frugal (or just plain cheap) I rarely order drinks when out. I cannot justify spending 2. 95 for a glass of iced tea or 7. 50 for a glass of wine when I can get the whole bottle for 6. 99. One thing that I could to do to improve my eating out habits that would be both healthier and more cost effective is to ask the server to box up half of the meal. Restaurant portions are much larger than we should be consuming. This would prevent me from overeating and provided me with another meal for the next day.Overall I am a good shopper. I purchase seasonal food to take advantage of better pricing and quality. I shop strictly from a lis t so I do not over buy. I prepare my list from planned menus and advertised sales. I use coupons to purchase only those items I would normally purchase rather than purchasing an item because I have a coupon. I could improve upon my eating out habits by making healthier choices and eating less. The real benefit of my current meal plan is that my sister is a very good cook and usually prepares dinner every night and she usually makes healthy meals. I ust help clean the kitchen! My food cost breakdown for the 7 days I recorded is as follows: Grocery Store: Grapes @. 99lb 2. 50 Skimmed [email  protected] 2. 99 gal 2. 99 Agave nectar @5. 99 23 oz11. 98 Strawberries @ 3. 99 32 oz 3. 99 Banana popsicles 1. 99 Fish sticks13. 00 Frozen peas 3 bags @1. 00 ea. 3. 00 Pluots 2 lb @1. 69lb 3. 37 Yogurt @ 10 for 6. 00 6. 00 Total48. 82 Fruits and vegetables 12. 86 26% Dairy 8. 98 18% Seafood13. 00 27% Misc13. 98 29% TOTALS48. 82100% Eating out: Mc Donald’s x 210. 34 Bob Evans18. 00 (with tip) Waffle House12. 00 (with tip) Dairy Queen 2. 59 Total42. 93

Psychological Approach to the Reconstruction of Iraq Iraq is politically divided along ethnic, religious and ideological lines. The religious groups are vociferously opposed to the continued presence of American troops. The nationalist feel the Americans should not get involved and to let them settle their own affairs. Construction Dispute Boards Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 2500 words

Construction Dispute Boards - Essay Example that, an examination of traditional alternatives to the construction dispute boards will be highlighted before giving a comparative analysis of the two. Each construction project is distinct and unique from the other in its own right. This is because employers or project owners seek for customized services. Because of potential disputes that are bound to arise, each party nominates one impartial and independent person to form the dispute resolution board. Thereafter, the two nominated parties nominate a chairman with similar qualities to regulate the dispute board. The fundamental obligation of each member of the board is to get independent and original facts from the sites by regular visits and resolve the matter amicably. Through this, verdicts are easier to determine whenever conflicts or issues arise from the situation according to Donald (2009, p1). In unison, the board provides regular communication to their clients when there is a potential area of conflict that they detect. This effort is aim at resolving disputes before they arise and take negative directions. The composition of a dispute board may determine whether the boa rd takes the name of a Dispute Resolution Board (DRB) or Dispute Adjudication Board. The former name is strictly meant to give resolutions and a way forward and the latter provides adjudication positions. The following segments will look at the compositions of the DRBs. In most cases, the members of the DR boards do not exceed five. Unless the project is very large or too controversial such as the Hong Kong Airport project where seven members were used, three members are often the optimum figure. An odd number is chosen because of a need of a majority vote when a controversial standoff may have arisen. For a person to be named as a member, there are four qualities that they must posses and demonstrate. They must have an in depth knowledge with relevant design and construction issues.
